do you have days in which you wish you could just have a do over? it doesn't happen often but every once in awhile it does and yesterday was definetly one of them.
i don't know what was up with my children but oh my...did i give you something to eat/drink that messed with your mind?
i have gone to the same church for 8 years and I was very confident that mass was at 10:30...um no...mass is at 10
i just woke up in a funk and it just never seemed to go away. all day was a struggle and it was just no fun.
here is to positive thinking and praying that the no good horrible day does not come back for awhile.
on a different note, tried this recipe last week...can you say oh my...words do not describe this masterpiece. if you love peanut butter, this one is to try.

My baby turns 5
we arrived at the hospital very early to finally meet this guy
i will never forget your dark curly hair and how loud you were. At one point the Dr. leaned over and said 'that's what you call strong willed."
i love you so Charles William.
happy birthday!
love,
mom

email conversation
this is a an email conversation i had with Jay this week
J: This was a post from a Cherryvale guy on Facebook. Thought it was pretty funny. :)
“When my boy's get their own house, I'm going to their house, jumping on their furniture, raiding their fridge, gripe because there is nothing to eat, and make a huge mess, then just leave with the toilet either plugged or with a floater in it. Then just laugh all the way home.…#
S: That’s so right on
J: And, sit in their living room in my underwear and play video games all day.
S: And ask to go out to eat and blockbuster everyday or several times/week
J: And lose/hide their TV remote.
S: And scream/whine/cry when I can't watch the show I want to watch
This could go on all day. :)
All this to say, I do love this life. :)

happenings and quotes
so the weekend was blah...lots of rain, colder temps...just kind of blah.
mac and i did the Trolley Run this past weekend and i think i've scarred him for life. shame on me for not training him, but i just didn't plan well and the last couple of weeks just wouldn't work. he did pretty good and actually ran the first mile and at the end, but he's adamant he's not going to do another race. hopefully i can convince him to do at least one more so we can do adequate training. :)
famous quote:
i came home from the store on saturday, charlie starts helping me unpack the groceries comes across the flour tortillas and says ' you go taco bread' ...made me laugh and smile...

musings of a tired mommy
the weekend is coming to an end. as always it went way too fast and much time was spent catching up and getting ready. i swear i did more laundry than i have ever done in my entire life. :) it was a perfect spring weekend, where the boys played and played baseball and played some more. much yard work was accomplished and jay got our garden plot tilled. now we patiently wait to plant and pray that something grows and that the rabbits don't eat it first.
my mind is a mess and my words are jumbled. we had the opportunity to visit with our neighbors. they are super sweet and i'm thankful that they are our neighbors. as we were talking mr. miller said, don't ever give up on your dreams and since then, i've been thinking what is my dream? my dream is to take care of my family the best way i can and right now i just don't feel like i am. my dream is to find my passion. 5 out of 7 days a week is a mental struggle for me. i'm a working mommy. do i want to be ....no. but the choices i've/we've made require that i work. do i like what i do...no, but i love the flexibility it gives me. i'm very fortunate and that keeps me where i'm at. i have hopes that one day it will be different and a rough plan on how to get there...where my family won't be dependent on my income as much as we are today, which will allow me to pursue a job that i have passion for...whatever it may be. loving this song right now....my favorite verse...
Don't know how it is you looked at me and saw the person that i could be...
enough of my rambling. onto the boys. baseball has started and i'm loving it. i am one proud mama when i watch mac get on the pitchers mound. i swear his eyes light up. i'm so proud of how he carries himself, how he interacts with his teammates. Love it. kind of funny, since baseball is my least favorite sport.
i think this guy has as much fun as the boys

charlie is loving baseball, is obsessed with all the equipment and has already identified three different teams as his favorite since opening day.

St. Louis 1/2 marathon
it is truly race day that reminds me why i run. the weekend was fantastic. this was the first race that i actually travelled to. the hotel and streets were full of racers and their families. it was empowering to be surrounded by people as crazy as i am.
my official time was 2:05:50 and while i was hoping to break just under2 i'm still so proud of myself for finishing. the weather was perfect but at about the 10 mile marker it was getting hot and some folks started getting in trouble and having issues that required medical attention, which started to mess with my head. this might have been my favorite race thus far.
i got two things at the expo which i would highly recommend: this and this.
it was awesome that my family finally got to see me and it was so uplifting for me when i saw them.
such a great weekend...some photos
the largest race i've ran to date. there were over 16,000 participants at the starting line
my cheering section...wow they look excited to be there.
cara my fearless running partner
after the run and a much needed shower we did a few sight seeing adventures
i have to admit i was more impressed by the arch than i thought i would be...it was massive
tulips at cardinals stadium...the stadium was impressive
