Lately

Lately, I'm feeling out of it, like there but not really. I read or hear something but only parts of what I'm reading, hearing and/or seeing are making it to my brain. Hmmmm....frustrating.

Lately, we've been busy busy busy with the following:

Jay's 20 year high school reunion. I will always love that he is older than me.

Trip to CherryVegas/Independence to celebrate one such reunion. spending time on the Presson farm. Loved it...cozy, peaceful beautiful.

Celebrated my first baby turning double digits. Time please oh please slow down.

KU Homecoming...KU vs ISU. Seriously too cold and we were unprepared. Charlie and I watched kickoff festivities then headed to the union to enjoy some window shopping. After the 1st quarter, the whole family headed to Chris and Jessica's to finish watching in warmth.

Ran my 2nd 1/2 marathon. It was cold, AWESOME, harder than hospital hill both mentally and physically, beat my time by 3 minutes. 2 hours 1 minute baby.

Watched Mac in his first competitive baseball tournament.

Celebrated 1st report card of 4th grade

Celebrated a successful peanut butter challenge. Charlie is ok to eat peanuts. Yay!

Double Digits

How can it be that 10 years have gone by? 10 years since I held you in my arms...so unbeleivably excited that you were finally here and feeling love that I never knew existed.

You took your time coming into this world, I was two weeks overdue and more than ready for you to arrive. Your arrival was somewhat scary...but it all worked out in the end. I can't believe you were 9 pounds 15 ounces...you in fact lived up to your name... BIG MAC.

You make being a mom easy...you always have. You were a great baby and you are a great kid.

May you always know the special place you hold in my heart. You fulfilled my lifelong dream to be a Mommy.

Ahhhh....

Time as usual is flying by. Mac will be 10 in a week and oh my goodness, I have no idea what to get that guy!

Here are a few snippets from my day: (please note that Jay and Mac went to the KU football game today, so Charlie and I hung out...so that is why they are not mentioned.)

Charlie and I headed to Oktoberfest in downtown. Enjoyed the scenery, enjoyed the carnival rides, enjoyed the slide...oh my enjoyed the slide. I giggled/laughed all the way down. :)

Charlie actually won a decent prize at the Carnival game he played. Of course he chose a Tiger. What is up with this guy? :)

Got to visit the firehouse near downtown and saw the crew in action when they were called to a fire...very cool

Went to the new scrapbook store that opened in downtown. Oh scrapbooking how I have missed you.

Spent way too long at WalMart just cruising the aisles. Charlie's Christmas list keeps growing and growing and growing. Is that a bad thing?

Purchased Charlie's Halloween costume. Power Ranger again. Do you know how many power ranger costumes are in my house between Mac and Charlie? Well, i don't know the exact number but it's more than 1 and that's too many!

Have you heard of the new (i think it's new, but it's definitely new to me) Reese's Dark peanut butter cups? OH MY GOODNESS! Seriously good.

Seriously?!?!?!?

Dear Facebook Friend:

This letter is to inform you that I have decided to de-friend you. While i still consider myself your friend, i can no longer take your political opinions.

Did you know that I voted for Obama? Yep, I did, and i would do it again. I would love to put a big fat Obama sticker on my car, but i don't really believe in putting signage on my car, that as well as being afraid my car might get egged in the church parking lot.

I will be the first to admit that I'm not politically savvy. Sure I do my civic duty and vote and try to educate myself on the candidates and their platforms, but it really hasn't been until this last election cycle that i really, truly investigated and researched and came to my conclusion about my vote. Before that, i pretty much voted Republican b/c of one issue, not because I necessarily support the platform. So basically what that means, is that i don't really support either party, i support the candidate. As a result, if i felt that Obama was whacked i would be OK with saying that, but to be honest I don't. Yet, i do want to hear both sides...maybe i should start a new party...the wish was hies. But man, when you post links to blogs that in my opinion are whacked, i think you have bad motives.

Why are we, this country, in such an uproar over the health care changes being discussed? Goodness we don't even have a bill...they are still putting a bill together. Is it worth people losing their fingers or getting in fights? At this point, i don't think so. Do you really want your president to fail? Really? Do you wish that on people...failure?? What would happen if we focused our negative energy on prayer, prayer for our country, prayer for our people, prayer for our president?

So goodbye my facebook friend, we'll see you later.

Your Obama Loving Friend,

Stevie
