updates and random

mac had his arm re checked last week and there is no break.  he's pretty much back to normal activities

we have had a lot of snow the last couple of weeks.  this was the first week that the boys went to school all week, since christmas break.

i bought a bouquet of daisys 2 weeks ago.  that was the best $4.99 i've spent.  those daisy's are still going strong

so thankful its friday.  its been a long week and looking forward to a light weekend

a little friendly competitiion

charlie and i stopped at an estate sale last weekend. we found chutes and ladders for $1. i love that it feels somewhat vintage and that it was only a $1. i love that even big brother was up for a game.

i love food. i think about food all the time. how much i'm eating, how much my boys aren't eating, how annoying it is that they are so gosh darn picky, planning weekly menus or attempting to plan weekly menus. i love trying new recipes.

we tried spinach lasagne last night. this is the recipe i somewhat followed. instead of making my own sauce, i just bought the spaghetti sauce we always use. also, i'm sure we used more cheese than the recipe calls for. jay was standing behind me and kept saying 'more cheese.'

verdict: "we are fixing this again. you can't even taste the spinach." - jay.

today it happened

i am a momma of 2 boys and i will admit i'm lucky that it took 11 years before i had to visit the ER in fear of a broken bone.

today was the day....

today mac went up for a steal and landed on his elbow.  i kind of cried watching him on the floor while coach was checking on him.  i took all of me not to run out to the floor.






verdict...they're not sure if there is a break or crack.  we'll have it x-rayed again in 7-10 days.  until then it's being treated as though it is broken.

he is a trooper and so was i.  :)

christmas 2010

christmas 2010 is in the record books.

the season stresses me out, so many to dos when all i want to do is soak it all in...the colors, the music, the food. this year i think i did better in letting go of those things i just couldn't do and enjoying those things we did do.

the next couple of posts i'll spend trying to catch up with some pics of the holidays.

the greatest blessing this year was just being with family and friends that we just don't get to spend enough time with.
